Global strong solutions to 1D full compressible Navier-Stokes equations with vacuum

Abstract:

In this talk, we will present our recent work on the global well-posedness of strong solutions to the one-dimensional full compressible Navier-Stokes equations, with both constant viscosity and constant heat conductivity, in the present of arbitrary vacuum. The boundary can be either fix boundaries, or free boundaries, or mixed boundaries (one side fixed and the other free). The initial density is allowed to vanish both in the domain and on the boundary. It is only the smoothness, rather than any structure, assumptions that are required on the initial density.
